Euro 2008

It has started yesterday. It's from June 7 to June 29. Here are the groups if anyone's wondering and doesn't know:

GROUP A
Portugal
Czech Republic
Switzerland
Turkey

GROUP B
Austria
Croatia
Germany
Poland

GROUP C
Netherlands
Italy
Romania
France

GROUP D
Greece
Sweden
Spain
Russia

Yep. Those are all the countries.

There will be 2 matches a day for 12 days (a total of 24 matches) then one quarter-final a day (4 of them). Then a break and on the 25th and 26th there will be a semi-final (once a day). And finally one the 29th, the FINAL!

So, that's most of the information. Well, more information can be found in Wikipedia but I just want to start off a conversation on about Euro 2008 :).

Some guy in our class made me pick a country involved in the Euro 2008 Cup out of a hat. I got Portugal.

If Portugal wins, I get a chocolate bar! Wooh!

For some reason, even though none of the home nations of the UK actually got around to qualifying this year, every game is still going to be broadcast on British TV.

I'm not particularly bothered by football, but I hope that someone unexpected wins!:D

Which type of football? The Amarican Football, or the every-other-country-in-the-world Football? (or Amarican "Soccer")

He means proper football. Where you kick a ball around with your feet. As opposed to American football, where you run around holding something shaped like a peanut. Never quite understood why they named that football.

They named it after the unit of measurement, I believe. As in a third of a yard. So a football field is 300 feet.

Edit: No wait, it's named after Rugby football, which is named after Football. So yeah.
