Behind the Dumb discussion

We've all seen that "Behind the Dumb" video on the Journal section (or at least, a handful of what's to come from it). Now it's the time for me to make a forum topic devoted entirely to it. So start chatting away, folks.

It's awesome. I commented on the actual YouTube page that I hope Jamul will use that 3D intro from now on, to "usher in" in the "new" era of Dumbness... sort of. [Now that the Dr. L engine is done.]

I just hope he DOESN'T crash and burn! Because otherwise we'll all be sad. Jamul, balance! Naturally, the game is more important than videos.

[said way too many times] But please still use 3D-ish art in the game, like SwC & LL2. EDIT: Note that I'm not asking for 3D, just a higher quality of art, styled like LL2 [/said way too many times]

A 3D game would be fun. Also, Jamul's first non-still-photo appearance ever! I don't think there's been any others...

I was thinking it's a nice change to see him when he's not pulling a weird face. :p

I, like a few other people, have witnessed the 1st Episode of Behind the Dumb. And it was good. Now we can continue discussing it.

Wow.

Unless he's a wolfman in disguise! *Gasp* He has ears!

EDIT: And I think the email section is great. But he got a little arrogant [albeit he was mostly joking] about RockStarism, just considering how SwC was lotsa people's worlds.

EDIT2: I was just thinking that one of us should play as one of those real nerdy types that picks out all the details in Jamul's videos. :P "Wait, that's not a phone holder at all! But what could it be? It appears to have a digital screen. I must say though that the door in the email segment looked a tad bit small, but the door handle was a nice touch." Also... "Best Effects EVER."

MOSTLY joking?

(I'd like to point out that your assumption of arrogance is premised on the notion that I believe Hamumu Software is more popular than Rockstar Games... so not so much arrogant as uterrly delusional?)

Well, obviously, Hamumu Software isn't more popular than Rockstar Games, but you do have the right to be proud of your games! Supreme with Cheese is a legend in the indie world, even if you didn't do all the worlds. :)

Hamumu has been blamed for less murders than Rockstar has, so the people who really dislike Rockstar might cancel out its supporters and put Hamumu in the lead. :p

Re: Behind the Dumb discussion

I don't know, I just really need to make a real clear comment on this, because it really bothers me that somebody just called me arrogant...

The entire point of the joke (saying I am a rock star) was that I am NOT a rock star. I am nobody. Perfectly normal person. So it is therefore supposed to be humorous to say "take that, multimillion dollar corporation, ooh I totally beat you", when obviously I haven't. I would never say something like that in seriousness, and would in fact be absolutely disgusted to see somebody act that way when they weren't kidding. If your friend spun a yo-yo and said "I'm the greatest yo-yo master in the world!", you would know he was kidding and didn't actually think that a simple yo-yo spin was the top achievement in the world of yo-yos.

I have a very dry sense of humor (since I'm totally awesome*), so please try to notice that I am joking when my mouth is moving (or my fingers). It may be deadpan, but it's a joke. It may not be funny per se, but it's still a joke, as in not serious. All words that emanate from my brain are jokes. They may attempt to convey valid data, but they do so in a joking form. Like Chandler, it is my defense mechanism.

And by the way, I would love to hear any and all criticism you may have of the show, so I can make it better (I know it has a looong way to go)! Just please don't insult me in the process.

*same joke as before. I am not awesome.
