A list of famous folk who passed away this year and some info about each.

Michael Jackson
August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009
Known as the King of Pop and the most famous pop artist ever. His hit album Thriller holds the position of the best-selling album of all time. He died of a drug overdose, supposedly purposely given to him by his physician.

Billy Mays
July 20, 1958 – June 28, 2009
A famous advertiser well known for his VERY LOUD STYLE OF ADVERTISING. Only 2 months before his demise, Discovery Channel aired PitchMen, a series starring Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan in a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a salesman. He died from hypertensive heart disease, which was not helped by his cocaine addiction.

Farrah Fawcett
February 2, 1947 – June 25, 2009
An actress probably most well-known for her part in Charlie's Angels. She died of lung cancer.

Ed McMahon
March 6, 1923 – June 23, 2009
A former fighter pilot who became famous for being the announcer and sidekick on The Tonight Show. He suffered from numerous health problems shortly before his death.

Dave Arneson
October 1, 1947 – April 7, 2009
Co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons along with the also deceased Gary Gygax. He died of cancer.

Wayne Allwine
February 7, 1947 – May 18, 2009
The voice actor for Disney's famous character Mickey Mouse from 1977 until his death. He died from complications resulting from diabetes.

Millvina Dean
February 2 1912 – May 31 2009
The last survivor of the Titanic. At nine weeks old, she was the youngest passenger aboard the doomed vessel. She died from pneumonia.

James "The Rev" Sullivan
February 10, 1981 – December 28, 2009
The drummer for the very popular metal band Avenged Sevenfold. He was known for his fast and precise drumwork. He died supposedly of natural causes.

Lou Albano
July 29, 1933 – October 14, 2009
An American wrestler. He was a cameo in 4 Cyndi Lauper music videos and starred as Mario in the Super Mario Brothers Super Show. He died in his sleep.

Lucy Vodden
1963 - September 22 2009
The inspiration for The Beatles song Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. One day, John Lennon's son Julian came home with a picture of her flying in the sky with diamonds. She died of lupus. John Lennon's son Julian made a new song called Lucy in memory of her and donated most of the proceeds to lupus foundations.

Les Paul
June 9, 1915 – August 12, 2009
A jazz guitarist and pioneer of rock n' roll who invented the solid body electric guitar. He died from pneumonia.

Brittany Murphy
November 10, 1977 – December 20, 2009
An American actress who starred in films such as Clueless and Happy Feet. She collapsed in her bathroom and died from a heart attack.
