I absolutely hate these threads, and I shouldn't even reply, but I want this to be well-known:

Because many players of TAG and Dumbwords don't visit the forum, and just play those games, using bad language in those games results in an immediate 3-day ban instead of an infraction or anything like that. That's the only way I have to impact people like that, who probably would ever even SEE an infraction. The ban is immediately apparent to them and they understand why they got it, and it directly impacts them in the game.

As always (and this is why I hate these threads):

1. If someone was permanently banned, they would absolutely know why and it would be no surprise.

2. It would be none of your business why, it's their own personal issue and they can't discuss it, so it's not fair for us to.

3. A thread like this is a direct question of me, so why are you posting it as a thread instead of a PM? Just PM someone if you have a question for them personally (major pet peeve that I see all the time).

Well, a bunch of other people might have the same question, especially in a situation like this one where someone's been banned. I'm not really sure what's worse though; a thread directed at one person, or a bunch of private messages that all ask the same question.

Noted personally.

Another good point. Maybe this thread should be deleted after Max comes back, with Jamul saying "irrelevant, now"...

Not to be offensive...
But it always strikes me as a no-brainer as of to why you shouldn't even REFFER to a swear on a site like this (implying that actually swearing is a very big no-no), user or visitor.
But nowadays nobody really cares.
And as of What Jamul said:
He means that these, "Why was who-knows-who banned?" topics are basically saying:
"How do we think Jamul was unfair to us (when the rules were only being enforced) this time?"
People, if you can't understand this, I don't get ya.

Default So... Loonyboy's Banned...

I certainly hope that was a temp ban... It was obviously hacked by his rude brother. Well anyway, I hope you're here tomorrow!

Default Talk of Bans thread. Yay.

It's a bad stance to discourage others from pirating?
If there wasn't a ban, others might get the idea it was an okay thing to do.

I was abit confused until I saw the title. Smushing all the threads together into one nice little "Talk of bans" thread. Which had me confused for a moment before I realized it.

Anyway, as I said before, if he allows things like that to happen with his account, then there's not much we can do about it other than ban him.

What Loonyboy should do:
Log Out when you leave.
Change your password every couple days.
Convince your brother you've been banned for life so he won't even try something like this again.

Ofcoarse all the above will be quite useless if it is you who has done this, or if this isn't a temp...

Good ideas, expect the 2th would be boring after a while.
Do you think chuck norris is as dangerous as CDL?

Yeah... Not really. He swears, and is insulting, yeah, and also Loonyboy has 3 infractions that I know of so this might be... *sniff* a life ban...

Well, evidently Loonyboy can still contact Jamul via e-mail if he wants to explain what happened.
However, if his brother really wants to be that nasty to him and his friends here, then it could be dangerous un-banning him, for fear that last nights incident could repeat itself. Nobody wants that to happen!

Doesn't matter if it's boring. It's security.
It's just afew minutes taken out of his day every couple of days(if not everyday)

The first step might be enough though, from what I've heard...

A far more secure solution is just to make a good password, and untick the "Remember Me" box.

CDL is not bad, sure he has had more mutiple accounts than can be named, but he was a nice kid. I mean, he got away with 31337 for months until he admitted it. He stills browse's the forums, I can see him the current users slot sometimes. He is like a ghost, able to see the world, but unable to say a word....
