Cool Behind the Dumb discussion

We've all seen that "Behind the Dumb" video on the Journal section (or at least, a handful of what's to come from it). Now it's the time for me to make a forum topic devoted entirely to it. So start chatting away, folks.

It's awesome. I commented on the actual YouTube page that I hope Jamul will use that 3D intro from now on, to "usher in" in the "new" era of Dumbness... sort of. [Now that the Dr. L engine is done.]

I just hope he DOESN'T crash and burn! Because otherwise we'll all be sad. Jamul, balance! Naturally, the game is more important than videos.

[said way too many times] But please still use 3D-ish art in the game, like SwC & LL2. EDIT: Note that I'm not asking for 3D, just a higher quality of art, styled like LL2 [/said way too many times]

A 3D game would be fun. Also, Jamul's first non-still-photo appearance ever! I don't think there's been any others...

:UPDATE:

BTD Episode 2 is up now. Here's the following info on LL Tactics revealed:

*Obviously, there are statistics (Strength, Armor, etc.), as well as buffs/curses
*Each unit has up to six abilities, both Active and Passive (get to suggesting those ability ideas on the Loonyland Tactics Suggestions thread)
*Much like Costume Party, there will be no storylines (and quiet possibly, no bosses)
*There will be a level editor to make maps/scenarios
*There might not be a Happy Stick faction

Voice of Sol!

EDIT: I really get the feeling that BtD shouldn't have the subtitle "Loonyland Tactics" anymore, because the show is much more about Jamul personally and various other games and things. [Unless the next episode has quite a bit to do with LL:T]

[moderation note: nothing wrong with making a separate thread to discuss one specific episode... but a post that just contains "discuss" is pointless spam. If you have something to discuss, discuss it!]

You seem to not understand the premise of this show. I am showing you the reality of developing this game. In reality, very little has been done so far. That's how it is. I can't tell you what weeks will have a lot of stuff, but all of the things that are happening are a part of that process. In reality, I really did spend a weekend making a game, and learning about Flash that way. Showing you "Indie Life" segments is part of that - this is how such a game is made. I live this life, and that goes into the game. If there's not much or any development on the game in a given week, then I can't show you things about the game that week, it's just not temporally possible. If that hurts your brain, then send emails asking questions about the game, so I'll be forced to discuss it in the emails segment.

The only way the show could be entirely about directly creating that game would be if it only came out once every few weeks at this point (and it would be very dry). Later on, it will probably be nonstop development, but right now, that's not where it is. You are seeing the real process which means a whole lot of non-progress most of the time. That's the reality of it, so that's what you get.

Heh, I know what you mean... Right now, I'm working on a game by sending emails to Xfire. I'm seeing how I'd be able to get support for my [future] game(s, possible) in Xfire.

Finally, a wrap-up to the Short Fuse 2 development cycle segment. And in case you're wondering, there's a LL Tactics placeholder demo with "placeholder" visuals (No 3D tiles, yet?).
