Default Wow, maybe?

Well, I just discovered that my internet only works when my TV is off, and doesnt work when its on. Anybody know what might be causing this strangeness of the screens? (DUN DUN DUNNNNN)

Though that's still a bit rubbish, because we have TV and broadband through the same box and it works fine.

I have a similiar problem except when someone turns on the TV or the air conditioning comes on I get disconnected and sometimes when the dryer or washer is on the internet goes off until the washer and dryer stop

I can understand TV, but the dryer and washer? Since when does clothing need to surf the internet? Especially during the spin cycle...

Whenever I play my piano, My Internet goes down.

Also- It acts real funny every time my mom excersises on her tredmill!

ITS A CONSPIRACY!

But on topic, I dont know why a WASHER AND DRYER would do that. I mean, a TV and computer can be connected or something, so may interfere, but um... Well, I dont see the washer and dryer. it just isnt happening.

My internet is on a cable between the computer and the router, and from the router, along a cable, to the line. Ha, my internet is stable!

My connection screws up when somebody uses the phone, even though we have a LAN connection now.

The washer and dryer stuff... do your internet cables run past those appliances? It might just be interference. I've got a lamp which sometimes makes my speakers go 'BOOM!' when I switch it off.

I think the W&D are probably sucking JUST enough electicity to kill the internet,

OH and Atkins, Speakers are influanced by magnets, when you turn off the aforementioned lamp, it makes a spark that makes electromagnetic waves that cause a "thumph"

Try this, Take a radio and turn it to an AM noiseless channel, then shut off your lamp... see?

Um, AFAIK, that won't work. Mainly because there is no spark involved.

I think he means "Electro-mechanical force" or EMF. The coil in the
light bulb produces a small induction wave. And when you shut off the
lamp, the field collapses, producing the 'thumpf' noise.
Odd, but true. It's science kids

Is that like a weak EMP?

Just curious...

I have been experiencing intermittent internet service in the last couple of days. I think it is due to all the electrical storms playin havoc with the local cable network.

Hmm...NY or NJ area? That I know all about. The company I work for, has
a large footprint in that area. And believe me, I take those calls.
