Default HELP with screen resolution

I have a Windows 7 64-bit edition laptop. Whenever I go to play any Hamumu game, there are the infamous black bars on the left and right side of my screen. I have attemted to try and fix this by fumbling with the resolution settings on my laptop, but nothing seems to work. I haven't even found anything where I can change the aspect ratio (I have 16:9). Please, I really could use some help with this. Thanks to anyone in advance!

P.S. My current resolution is 1366x768.

Probably you want those black bars. They're keeping the game from getting stretched out of its proper aspect ratio, which is 4:3, not 16:9.

Yes, I can understand that. But it's actually quite annoying when I'm playing a pitch black level, something I can assume that you might be able to understand. My dad has Vista with, I'm assuming, an HD monitor since it's like 24'. When he plays, it's stretched out, and it doesn't appear bad. Can you still help with stretching out the screen please?

Some laptops (or LCDs) just plain won't do it. They have a certain way of handling different aspect ratios, and that's just what they do. Other than that... you'd just have to look through your video settings! No idea what such a setting would even be called.

Really, the game would have to be made to do this. Some games can scale their graphics to display at 1024x768 (or something) while taking up the full space of a 16:9 monitor, others can't.

Ok, thanks for all the help. I guess I can just deal with it. But there IS one more question that has been answered before. I have Windows 7, as mentioned above, and the colors go wonky in some Hamumu games. I have checked the FAQ to download a file that should fix this, but that file is no longer available. Dr. Lunatic SWC works just fine with the colors, but when I play LL2 they get mixed up. And it only seems to happen when it's in full screen, whereas windowed mode works fine.
