Six months is enough of a hiatus, I think. Sorry, but I got a job.
... Annnd I got distracted by another game.
Yeah.

Anyway, I am starting back up on this! Huzzah!
I'm currently polishing off the last pre-underground area. That's right, apart from the Underground, the Castle, and the final levels, this world will be finally finished!

Mind, those will take some time. The Underground, similar to the original, will have larger areas than the rest of the world, and I intend to try and make them each somewhat unique. And then the castle, where I have plans to make it quite fun! At least, I hope so.

In the meantime, now I have to make a set of tunnels with rocks barreling down the straightaways so you have to keep on your toes. Should be a lot of fun for any of y'all who find this secret area!

I feel like this addon has more secret areas than regular areas.

I do think I talk about those a bit more than the other areas... probably because with each of the secret areas I try to do something unique, so I get excited! That, and I really love games that reward you for exploring, and have some sort of big secrets that you might miss completely the first time around. In reality, there's only about a dozen or so small secret areas, but the full size is going to be about as big as the original Winter Woods. So certainly more secrets than I usually see in a Hamumu game, but I'm hoping there's quite enough non-secret content that people who don't find all the secrets won't feel left out.

So, lately I've been working on a different aspect: computer hacking.
I have programmer skills, so I've actually been looking into a couple of the minor bugs in the game.
I actually even figured out how to fix a few of them. One in particular, the Training bug. You may or may not know, but Training is bugged so if you get it to level 13 or above, it becomes useless. Future versions of the Absurd Area patch will include not just my dialogue, but a fix of this bug! Now if you max out Training, equipping the Trainee Parka (or the +3 Training special reward parka) won't mean you end up getting less experience on average!

Progress continues, and I fixed another bug for y'all.
Bruisers, Sock/Ghost Monkeys, and Ice Hounds/Ghost Dogs had a bug where even if they were friendly (from Persuasion), they could only hurt friendlies (including you!). If you've done the Rumble as Onion Ring, even in Winter Woods, you may have noticed that the friendly Bruisers there hurt several friendly troops with each swing - including themselves.
I fixed that. It'll be nice in the Rumble, but also, I'm quite happy since I love the Persuasion skill, so the ability to mind control a Ghost Dog and have it run wild for a while will be great.

Blowing the dust off. Pfoo!

I listened to some feedback from earlier and toned down some of the huge battle areas a bit... partly because they weren't even that fun for me! For example, the Pirate Attack gave me trouble unless I did some grinding for a while first, and I HATE grinding. So I took out a few of the tough enemies.

It'll still be one of those "you can't cross the river until you're powerful and good enough" things, but the bar should be a bit more manageable now.

Darn, my computer is having problems and won't boot. Probably overheating issues. I'll try to get it straightened out soon.
