Default Windows 10

Windows 10 was released about two weeks ago, but I'm still getting this:

Anybody know why I can't just get it now? Every other computer in my house is able to get it. And yes, I know there's the option of simply downloading the direct Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft and booting up the computer from that, but my brother *COUGH* wedxzas *COUGH* thinks that for whatever reason that isn't good for the computer or we'll break it or something.
Anyway, does anyone at least know when it will actually be made available to everyone? I'm not even using some old computer or whatever, I'm using this.

Aside from this, for those of you (if any) that have upgraded/used Windows 10, what's it like? What are the major differences? Better than Windows 8?

I think it will be the same level as Windows 8. The problem I find with Microsoft is that they do not do anything to optimize windows. Also, I think that if it's for free, there will be more problems with their updates. Just a few days ago, I updated my Windows 8 system and it completely erased all my personal data (You can look it up on the internet and see that several people have such a problem). Fortunately I had backups of my work, so I didn't lose everything.

That sounds fake, but okay.
And I mean, I'd love to use Linux and all, (I have Ubuntu on my laptop) but I share this computer with a couple other people, and I doubt they'd want to stop using Windows.

Windows 10 is being rolled out in waves to tweak some stuff and to prevent overloaded servers. As to the whole deletion thing it sounds doubtful, but weird stuff happens sometimes.

Yeah okay, that makes enough sense. I guess I'll just try to be a bit more patient.

It's impossible for me to have chosen one of the "Reset PC" options that Windows 8 offers. The Windows Updater kept on nagging me about restarting my PC to install the new updates, so I decided to accept. Four hours later, it was as if my PC got reset back to factory settings...

Have you tried a system restore?

I have, but there was nothing to restore to. The list was blank. I have tried other methods such as using other restore programs such as Any Restore, but so far no luck. Fortunately I had all my data backed up, so it's no big deal. But I'm just saying, I think Microsoft has been unrobust for the past year with updates.

I mean, Microsoft kind of went downhill with Windows 8, I guess. I feel like Windows 8 was Microsoft's way of trying to make one universal operating system that could work with both touch-screen tablet computers and desktop computers.

Simplifying down to one codebase is definitely a good idea. I think everyone knew win8 was going to be terrible before it came out - and to be honest win11 has a pretty good chance of being crap. They seem to have a pattern of good-bad. Like winVista. or Win ME.
