Default Forum dying out

Why are there about 960 forum users and only about 100 of them post?

Some of them were active for awhile and then moved on. Some of them signed up for the sheer joy of joining something, but never posted anything. Some of them just don't feel like posting that often. Some of them can't think of anything to say. A few of them have even broken their computers. And a very, very small number have been banned.

I, for one, am not disappointed when people who have nothing to say don't post, but you don't have to feel like the forum is dying out. Those 900+ people were never all active at the same time anyway.

I like having a small forum. It lets you get to know everyone, and it's like you have a community of friends instead of just throwing words into the huge, uncaring world of the inter-nets. That's why I've stayed on here so long.

(Yes, I think I have friends. )

Yeah. On large forums, you tend to get drowned in the thousands of users, and have no identity. I usually end-up hanging around a few little areas of them. Whereas here, we all know each other pretty well, and we're all friends. *Sniffle*

69% of people who post on these forums are insane. Guess which group I am in! I am still waiting for Hammered to slip into insanity and post spam on my spam thread....

Anyway, I do have an idea of what you mean by the forum 'dying out'.

Some of the people who used to come on alot are hardly coming on at all now, if ever!

True, but those people are replaced by those adorably annoying young n00bs. It's the circle of life, adjusted for the inter-nets.

It doesn't seem dead, seeing as whenever I sign on (usually) there is new posts. :?

Hey AtkinsSJ, first let me tell you I feel special for being in your sig, even if only for a day or two. I am a customer service rep and I always write Happy (insert day of week here) in my emails to my customers after I write thank you. It seems to really make a few of them laugh. Some of them even say it back. Just thought I would explain a lil. Didn't want you thinking I was DumB or something. : ) Happy Late Night Monday (Well at least where I am). : )~

I didn't think you were dumb. (lol, I just spelt dumb as 'dumd'. How coincidental is that?) I just thought it was funny, because it was like Wednesday was a special occasion. Actually, with Capitalism, I'm sure there'll soon be cards for days of the week.
