Default A Bug

Has anyone had their computer crash because of the glow cursor.
Nothing against the glow cursor, but whenever it crashes, it's when I
activate the glow cursor. It happens only a couple of times, but I think it's
a bug. Help!

It works fine for me.

That's odd. It happens at least once a day to me. It may not be a bug. I think it is, but my computer is somewhat slow, being four to five years old.

I'll save jamul the troble here. You need a better graphics card. Have you updated it recently?

Why do you use the glow cursor? you should almost never have any use for it. Its purpose is to look and see if there are gaps in walls or trees (especially trees where it's hard to tell). I'd say just don't use it!

Oh, and you don't need a new graphics card!

Could be something unrelated to the game (even including graphics card issues, but Supreme does not require even a remotely recent graphics card, it will work with anything... that isn't broken), or a bug with the glow cursor is possible since nobody ever uses it (or so I think?).

I use it. I found the gap in the mall trees for you with it.

MadBob, you could try the setting which blockifies the light, like in the original Dr L. I can't remember how to do it though.

Program Files/Supreme/Config.txt has a "Lighting" property IIRC.

What exactly is this 'glow cursor'?

It's a feature in the editor that can be accessed via the "View" menu. When activated, it illuminates any area the cursor is over, which is useful
for detecting unnecessary gaps, like Hammered mentioned, and it can illuminate dark spots, which is a lot faster than having to pull up the "Light" menu constantly. My game has crashed several times, however, when I activate this feature. My computer is a Pentium 4, and despite the fact it is moderately old, it can run games up to 128 MB RAM without difficulty. Since this game appears to be less than 128 MB RAM, I believe the glow cursor crash is a bug, since the only games my computer has trouble running are 256 MB RAM and above.
P.S. The game crashed 2 or so hours ago because of this. At least I saved my world before it crashed! I should be halfway finished building it!

I always do all my editing with light turned off, until I'm actually setting up the lighting (and then I only turn it on as needed to do that). I think that's the best way to do it!

I'll try that, Jamul. Thanks. But what if other people try to use the glow cursor for illumination when building, and then encounter that same crash?

The glow cursor is only intended to help find gaps. It isn't for lighting while building. The lights should be turned of via the V menu and left that way, unless you are working on the lighting.
