Default Mafia Game #15

London, Airstrip One, 4th April 1984

Welcome, Comrades, to another wonderful day in Oceania! Unfortunatly, the agents of Goldstein (The Enemy) are among you. They have also caused some doubleplusungood errors in the local linear accelarator. The upshot of this is that a temporal rift has appeared in the accelarator complex and that all the equipment that allows the Party to protect you from such things has been knocked out. (Anybody can jump into the temporal rift, but the results are utterly unprectible unless you know what you're doing. ) Remember these things, Comrades, to avoid all thoughtcrime: (teh rules)

  1. Remember, the Party says the chat does not exist. Anybody who thinks otherwise is an agent of Goldstein trying to convince you to stray from Ingsoc. (No mafia chattings.)
  2. The Party will only register votes such as VOTE: Goldstein
  3. Remember, if you want something to be known in the case that you die, you may write it down, and the Party shall let it be known. (Post ONCE after you die, immediatly after you die, if you want to.)
That is all.

Plusungoodwise, the agents of Goldstein have been doing doubleplusungood things to the good comrades of Ocenia. The Party have investigated and have found they murdered
Regeneratizor, a luckless prole!(survivor!) He can post a last gasp today, if he wants to.

It is Day 1! Vote who you think are the agents of Goldstein!

Wha?! This is already insanity, we've already lost a prole and it's just the FIRST DAY. Either the mafia are VERY lucky, or they have a role peeker/checker of some sorts.

This is technically my first game, but I've watched EVERY other from 1 to 14.

ATTENTION TOWNIES!
THIS IS THE TOWNIE RULE WE WILL GO
BY IF WE HAVE ANY CHANCE OF WINNING!
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT EVER EVER EVER
VOTE SOMEONE WITHOUT A DECENT
EXPLANATION! DON'T BANDWAGON
MINDLESSLY. YOU CAN BANDWAGON, BUT
ONLY IF YOU DISPLAY A DECENT REASON
OF WHY YOU VOTED THEM!

That is al- ACK! HOW DO I GET THIS
STUPID MICROPHONE O- There. All good

Now, I can't really suspect anyone yet, but I'll be keeping a good eye out for mafioso behaviour. [endseriousness/]

I hate day one. I never know who to trust. *looks suspiciously over shoulder*

I think Roland is absolutely right. We must have discussion before we starting pointing fingers. Make sure that votes are based on logical thought, not random feeling. At this point I have little to say, but I would strongly suggest that anyone who is tempted to lurk refrain from doing so. We need to have everyone involved if we are going to find those mafia.

So, come on, guys! Speak up and start thinking!

I may just be guessing here, but I think it's pretty likely that the mafia have some sort of investigator. Figure out who that is and you'll probably find a mafia.

I don't know who that would be though, and it's too early to find evidence. For now, I'll stick to using your arguments and finding the right conclusions.

AARRGGHH! I had typed a REALLY huge post going, and I clicked 'post quick reply' when it said I didn't have the right to do it, then it occured to me I had logged out. Why? I was obviously logged in before, as I couldn't have typed in the post box. Ah well, maybe tomorrow, It'll be quicker, as I did all the thinking today. But still,

And here it is -

I doubt Mr.O has stuck to the list of players that are shown on the Mafiascum website and not invented any of his own. Because nobody has yet. Funny. Well, as a townie it is my job to contribute to this game, and that I shall. I'll have a crack at guessing what the different mafia type's behaviour will be. Actually, I'll do the first 6. It's not gonna be too great, but hey, I tried.

Normal Mafia - Lynches townies, rushes people in voting, and is generally more eager to point fingers at people. Will protect other mafia, so try to find bonds of people, as they could be MAFIA. Or they could just be masons. Or it could be that they're just plain old townies giving rational evidence. Still, keep an eye out for them. But when I say that, I don't mean, "Vote Them," I mean, just do it in your head. Don't make it the biggest story in the Mafia newspaper, but watch out the protection doesn't get to the point where It's mafialike. Also, watch their reaction to things, good things for the townies, like that not so terrible kill on night 1. You know how police can sometimes determine whether someone committed a crime from facial expressions in the interrogations? That's what we can sort-of do here. It's a bit harder without facial expressions, but if you have a good eye, you might be able to spot these things. Give it a try! Dunno if it works that well or anything. Don't lynch anybody on the premise that they didn't feel sorry enough for the cop murder, but see whether they were scum or not if they do get lynched or nightkilled.

Mafia Godfather - Same as any ordinary mafioso.

Mafia Doctor - Will only appear if the townies have a role that can kill. Like a Vigilante, or an Inventor. Or something. This role might not be as protective of other mafia in discussion as normal, as he could protect him. This allows him to more townie-like, which might initiate that gut feeling we sometimes get of someone being a townie. As I said in my first post in the topic, don't rely on that.

Mafia Cop - This role is dangerous, as it allows the mafia to get access to the information of the power roles. This role should act much the same as a regular mafia.

Mafia Roleblocker - It's kinda hard to work out this mentality. I know, it sounds mafialike but it just seems to me that it would work just like a regular mafia. Oh, right.

Mafia Mason - Might show signs of weariness. Just like when I posted this, and logged out acccidentally. I mean, without all the swearing.
Put yourself in it's shoes. You just had a long PM conversation with your completely innocent townie equivalent. The last thing you want to do is abide by that stupid law that I set up about not voting without a decent reason. I mean, you could disobey, but that stupid Roland guy will keep his eye on you. The only problem here is, what if it's just a normal mason? But still, if for some reason you suspect, or investigate. It's just that, with this many people, there could be any number of cops) that someone is a mafia mason, then this might come in handy. Or not. Whatever (which is probably one of the terms they might use).

Mafia roleblockers typically try to stop the good people like cops and doctors from doing their jobs.

Every role in this game can be found somewhere on the mafiascum website.

Wow, the town got doublepluslucky. That's good. However, I'd hazard to guess that there'd be another agent or two of the good Thought Police, so we've not lost anything. In no way am I suggesting that such an agent would be me.

Nobody is acting strangely so far. I must point out that there's a good chance I won't be on much, though I shall make a good effort to keep-up with the game. Silly exams...

Suddenly, Julian ran into the accelarator complex and jumped through the rift! After a breif flash of light, he had gone.

I don't know what he did, but I do know it was dangerous. Perhaps someone encouraged him to do it. If so, who? And how? It could be that he was curious, but it could also be more sinister. Like a mafia mason or something. Well, we'll have to get a report when Julian comes back (that's if he does). For now... let's just sit and wait...
