I'm quite impressed. Just a couple of things. Firstly, it's very slow to load, but that might not be able to be helped. Secondly, being able to click and hold the mouse button to paint across the map, instead of clicking each tile, would be nice. But a good job!
Read the instructions, you can only do that if you hold your left button, click your right button once, then drag with your left still held down.

Yes, I warned you that your screen needs to be big enough to fit the program's window.

EDIT: Oh yeah! If you find a bug, tell me!

"castle smash has encountered an erroe and needs to close"
Thats what happened when i turned on the game after uploading your Red down yellow up or whatever it was called.

Does that count as a bug?

Oh and is it possible to make it so i can see the buttons on the side?

Discovery!!!
i can open txt file yellow up red don and edit it by changing it's letter

*changes all w's to .'s and ,'s to test theory*
It works!!!!

But it still doesn't load the map into castle smash right....
It just sez: "castle smash has encountered an erroe and needs to close"
I will re download the game and see if it works.

Oops double post...

1. I'll look into it...
EDIT: Odd, it doesn't happen to me, so it's not the editor, it's your Castle Smash.
2. I think the only way is to (windows xp):
  1. Right-click your desktop
  2. Click properties
  3. Open the "settings" tab
  4. Under "screen resolution", move the slider to the right.
Also, have you tried the "cave.txt" map? You have to be really crafty on that one. It's tricky.

Oops. I've never been good with reading instructions.
Actually, that's quite clever, in case your hand slips.

Your editor allows multiple forts, which shouldn't be allowed.

I have already found a way to make maps without useing the program, it is just an uploader into the game now.

*clicks 'Maps2' folder and clicks 'Default' starts changing the i's and m' and .'s and ,'s*

This way is more tedious but it works!

*saves map as 'awesome' then opens mapediter and uploads 'awesome' into the game*

And it also allows you to have two keeps(thats the tower)

I give this program a A-!!!!
Good job SM

Ps: where is cave.txt?
And what is file name "unwise"?(it downloaded with your editor)

1. I'm working on that literally right now.
2. Oh... my friend made that and I must not have included it...
3. That's Castle Smash's uninstall, I probably shouldn't include it (nor the INSTALL.LOG, either).

EDIT: I'll include cave.txt and exclude the unwise.exe and install.log in version 1.1.

Actually, I kinda like how you get the capability to get more than 1 fort! I'm actually going to use it to my advantage to create a map!

Ok, I will add some options that let you change that (and also fix a bug where if you close the manager window before the confirmation, an error message pops up) in version 1.2 sometime in the next week.

EDIT: Yep, there's version 1.1 in my sig!

Maybe there could be a function that allows pre-built houses, bridges and other buildings.

To do that, I would have to edit the game's source code . Unless anyone (*cough* jamul) knows what map codes allow buildings to be pre-placed.

You should add coordinates. I had to count manually where the middle is.

  • Each player can only have 1 keep,
  • The zip does not include UNWISE.exe or INSTALL.log,
    and
  • It includes the cave.txt map I was talking about.
Oh, and if you create any good levels, upload them and link to them here! That would be cool if we could create a bunch of levels, maybe I could compile them into a level pack in my sig when we get 10-15 or so!

Ok... I'm almost done with v1.2.
I've added a new preferences menu, and I'm wondering if you'd rather I combine the Choose Level with it or keep it separate. If no votes come in or it's a tie, I'll go for merging.
EDIT: Oops, double post.
EDIT 2: Ok, never mind. I'm not merging them.
