Default Bizarre Errors

With my new graphics card has come the most bizarre bug I've encountered - certain colours are switched. For instance, on the forum now, in FF and IE, the Moderator's names are blue, and others' brown. No idea what exactly causes it.

So, yeah. What's the weirdest error to happen to your computer?

Check your Control Panes for graphic card specific icons, Atkins. Then change gamme, that might work. Unless you already fixed it.

Wierdest thing to happen to my computer?

Hmmm...

I was watching TV and, and heard it turn off. Can't think of anything that could've caused it.

The cause of that might be pure bad luck but if your cpu does that a lot like once a 3hours it's on or something you might want to check the number of volts your cpu gets compared to how it needs.

Lets say you need 300volts and your cpu only gives 250. Progressively your cpu will start running out of energy.

Though if it's only the program that turned off then I have no clue.

My old comp would frequently turn itself of when it overheated -o_-o Putting a desk fan right next to it and leaving the windows open 'fixed' it :D (My current computer has better, uhm, "air conditioning" so it normally won't overheat :P (though it sometimes starts beeping to indicate it's getting too hot, then I have to switch the desk fan to full power and aim it directly at the tower :D))

That's where my taskbar normally is :D

Also, a weird thing that happened to me once was when right after booting up, the computer would run so slow that it'd take at least a minute to even get the (normally hidden) taskbar to appear when I moved the cursor to the top of the screen :D Restarting it (which took 15 minutes at least) fixed it, somehow. I really don't know how that could have happened -o_-o

I think this thread is desperately in need of some Twilight Zone music.

Also, for some reason occasionally when I click anything on my desktop, it highlights everything. And if you manage to get through to the Internet using the Start menu, whenever you click, it opens the application in a new tab (or window, I forget which). Bashing the Control key does the trick, though.

That would be a problem with your keyboard's SHIFT key. I think.

The strangest thing that happened to my computer (and still is happening) is that I cannot move, delete, rename or otherwise modify the contents in the Shared Documents folder. I can't add stuff either.

My computer hasn't turned off by itself since the day that happened, so I'm pretty sure the volt thing is not the problem.

Recently, when I installed linux on a separate HDD to Windows, it wiped all the files in the root of the Windows HDD. Bizarre.

I think it's how the computer is configured in the BIOS stuff. My other computer tends to freeze completely if I play games that are graphics-intensive.

And even if I don't, it has a small chance of freezing while starting up. How weird is that?

The best part of all is that I get a Code 10 error on my other computer concerning the modem.

It happened when nothing was open, and I play games all the time, so I know it's not graphic related.

Oh, did I mention my computer at the moment is a Windows 98 (and a crappy one at that)?

...actually, I thought Windows 98 was quite a stable OS...better than Windows ME, at any rate.

Do you hear the click of death when you run your computer?
