Unhappy Does anybody know how to capture a wild rabbit?

There's a wild baby rabbit in my yard and i need to catch him and keep him in my house as a pet cause if he stays outside my house, my dogs might hurt him? Please help me.

A carton like trick could work. put a huge box and put a stick holding one side up. The put a carrot under it. now attack the stick to a cord that you hold. When the rabbit comes to eat the carrot, pull the cord which makes the stick fall which makes the side of the box that's not up fall thus trapping the rabbit!

Back on topic, you'll want to be careful... It might attack you or even carry a disease.

I don't think it has rabies cause It lets me hand feed him and lets me pet him but every time i try to pick him up while wearing gloves he hops under my my porch. I wish I could hurry and get him cause if I don't I'm afraid that my dog will hurt it.

Feed him some Trix! *shot by Elmer Fudd*

Seriously, just lure him over, give him a few small carrot bits, and quickly pick it up. Run into the house (And shut the door) before he can break free.

I think that would be rather a bad idea. Even if it's completely healthy, wild rabbits aren't used to being kept as pets. It probably wouldn't be very happy being trapped in a cage, and it could hurt itself or bite you. You're better off just making sure your dog doesn't go chasing after it. It's probably not such a good idea to let your dog run loose if you live in a suburban area anyway.

This makes it sound like he's domestic.

Pretty much. The only time we've kept any animal other than the dogs and fish we own in our house is when my dad & my uncle accidently stumbled on a stray cat's nest in my dad's boat and scared the mother cat away on accident. The cats were taken back the next night, and I've seen them, fully grown, wandering around the neighborhood a couple months ago.

This trick won't work for beavers. They'll eat the stick. Ans so the box will miss them.

Really. I saw a baby squirrel once. Was the squirrel domestic?

FURTHER IN STORY:

I was in gym class last year, when a baby squirrel started running towards various people, thinking that they were related. (We were outside). The gym teacher got the janitors to sweep him into a bin and take him to the park. Later, I saw him chasing cars and he got hit.

That's a sad story. But how do you know it was the same baby squirrel that you saw get hit later? Not that it would be any less tragic if it were another baby squirrel; I'm just curious.

Both squirrels had small, wimpy, underfed bodies and heads that looked too big.
