Talking YerfMaze 4, comming... when its finished

I have started work on YerfMaze 4, and it iscomming on pretty well. Will post some screenshots soon, but Im at a freinds house right now and don't have them on this computer. This time, only a small part of the map is visible, an the screen follows yerfdog. This makes it harder to navigate, as you can't work out the whole route at once. There will also be weapons, traps and enemies, such as the yerfatuar, spirit of light, and many others. You will have access to turrets, tele-portals, flashlights, CD luanchers, and many more. Also, it will feature an editor, with wich you can make your own a-maze-ing levels (geddit? a-maze-ing?0 wich you can send in to the supreme construction team games site, and download others wich other people made. Also, there will be a ton of unlockable extras and secret videos in the bonuses menu.

Well, I saw his desktop, and the graphics for it looked good...

Anyways, my best tip is that for moving, give the player keyboard controls rather than key press controls. That prevents glitchy movement, and also use
"check if there is an object (wall) at position (x=hspeed, y=0,relative)"
If so, then set x to -hspeed

Repeat with y and vspeed. This will prevent getting stuck in walls.

I was making YerfMaze ZXCVB just incase someone stole 4.

(In some forums, when showing a game you made, you have to have screenshots, or your topic will get nuked. Luckily it doesn't apply here, this topic would be nuked by now if it did)

Hey, If you want screenshots just say. I can post a few fraps. I might even be able to post a couple gameplay vids, if I can figure out how to convert them to GIF, I use fraps for vids, by the way. I just finished the turret and it looks pretty cool. Oh, and vakarus, Im using GM, not c++. I know some c++ code, but not enough to make a game. And Im far past the character movement part, and there is no sticking at walls. However, when I placed the turrets the Spirits of light kept on breaking, they just randomly circled instead of homing in on the player. Oh, and the boulders break when I put in multiple. Something to do with the paths, I think. Ive barely got two levels, Im still Fixing all the engines. Will post more soon.

Oh. So what you have said is therefore pointless. Anyway, The editor. It will have something like ten save slots, And each one will take up a chunk of your memory, depending on how much you cram into it. You can't control the size of your level, there is a fixed size wich is rather large, and you don't have to occupy the whole thing.

Actualy, It is correct. Try it. I use that method for sidescrolling games, cos the move in direction action doesn't work very well. But in bird's-eye view games I don't use that, its simpler to use the move in direction. It doesn't get stuck at walls, though. Oh, and for some reason the spirits of light break once a turret is activated. They don't follow the player, they just circle randomly in corners. Any idea why this happens?

No screenshots yet, Im still working on the engines and there is only about 2 levels. Ive made some realy cool tiles, they look like a realistic smashed up brick wall. I don't have any music, though, cos all my music is rubish.
