If I may suggest something cyberclone, post new rules (such as the stat points) in a new post instead of editing your previous post. Otherwise, people will only know about them if they reread your posts.

Defense is Armour and I'm guessing acts the same as in the regular T&T games. Again, There is no mana in those games, so I have no idea what that is for.

mana is MP, as in what the attacks cost when U choose not 2 do nothing

As far as I know:
HP: Your life force. If it reachs 0, you are dead.
Mana/MP: I'm guessing Magic force. In other T&T dungeons, it is usually called energy. You need to use these to use attacks.
Speed: Used to determine if a melee attack hits. Probaly regulates turn order as well.
Defence: Reduces damage taken. (I believe 1 point per defence/armor).

I have to say, if that's how it is, then some stats (defense and mana) are waaaaay more valuable than others (HP and speed)!

I agree- I honestly don't believe you should be able to choose your stats- they should definitely be balanced in any case...

Well, here's the dealio:
HP: Very Valuable! Each character has a "Final Move", one dealing up to 20 damage! (but most of them are around 9)
Defense: Basically cuts down on the damage you take. You take at least .5D per hit, so don't make a character with 22 Defense and 1 of everything else!
Speed: The arenas are not that large, but this decides who goes first, too. Don't waste too much on speed.
Mana: Very Valuable! Each spell costs around 2 Mana, and you recharge 1 when doing nothing, and 5 when you have 0 and do nothing.

The reason having an extra point of defense is always better than having an extra point of HP is because HP just gives you another point of health, while defense effectively saves you a point of health for every attack you take!. Make sure you have some 'piercing' attacks and make sure each point in the health stat gives at least two extra points of HP, because one defense isn't equal at all to one health point.

In addition, a point of speed is weaker than anything else, so make sure the speed stat gives something useful other than walking speed and turn order - For instance, give all characters abilities that are based on current speed.
