Theres a second season coming out for Haruhi.. the first ep is out, somewhere.

Currently I'm reading Kekkaishi(almost done!) and watching Dragonball Kai(Which is basically Dragonball Z remastered, redubbed, and without all the fillers. It's pretty awesome, but Gokus japanese voice is hard to adjust to.)

Higurashi is awesome, simply because it's a complex mystery, the characters are deep, interesting, and sinister, and the plot itself it really well done. The first season is spectacular. The second and third seasons are alright, but they lack the suspense and mystery of the first. (Although the first arc of the second season is pretty good.) The Anime is a mystery/thriller, and it plays out like this:

Higurashi Ni: Questions Arcs
Higurashi Kai: Answer Arcs
Higurashi Rei: Bonus Arcs (Due to popularity of the series)

Rei is currently being released, but it not fully out yet. The first two have been out for years.

However, I would NOT recommend this to young people, since it is gory and violent. You have to be mature and calm to watch Higurashi, since it can get pretty intense. The first season actually contributed to my mild hemophobia. Still, it is my favourite series of all time, and I don't think that will ever change.

Bleach is for everyone, but some people say its a rip off of Dragonball Z. I dont see it.
Death Note is for people who love a great ending, smart person, and strategy.
Code Geass is the same, but its twice as better.

I think that every child loves anmies. I would be very surprised to meet one who doesn't. Unfortunately for me, I have yet to see an anime that has captured me, sure I watched plenty of animes but I got bored of them after a while and stopped watching, though I went to the end with DBZ, Naruto and bleach but I didn't like them much. Pokemon was my favourite when I was like 6 years old but after that I began to think it was too childish and dropped it when I was 8
So I cannot recommend any anime to anyone.....

I've only recently started really watching the Pokémon anime (starting with the first season), and it's not at all childish. There's a lot of humour in there which I think I child would probably not even get, and it's chock-full of parodies of anime-cliches and itself :> In short, yes, I do recommend Pokémon, at least the first few seasons. Just don't take it too seriously. There's lots of "serious" anime out there, but Pokémon definitely isn't one of them and taking it too seriously will only make you miss much of its humour.

And while I'm at it, Hoshi No Kaabii (or Kirby: Right back At Ya! as 4kids decided to name the dubbed version for some unexplainable reason) is also more than recommendable. The animation looks fantastic (much of it is actually cel-shaded 3D animation rather than being drawn, but it fits in perfectly with the 2D stuff and doesn't "stand out" nearly as much as you'd expect it to), the characters are creative and likable (even the "new" ones that don't appear in the games) and there's some pretty hilarious moments on the show (and again with the parodies and some rather obscure references). I'd recommend the original Japanese version (if you have access to it) more than the 4kids dub though, since a lot of the humour is lost in the dub (as well as the original soundtrack, which is pretty awesome :> *whistles Kirby March*).

EDIT: Oh, and just to make this clear(er), neither of the anime I mentioned can be considered "serious", so don't expect too much in that area. They're mostly just humorous and entertaining :> I never really liked "serious" shows, anime or not, so meh.

Bleach is currently my favorite. I always laugh at the awkward... uh... moments with Ichigo and Yoruichi. ("CAN YOU PLEASE PUT SOME PANTS ON!?!?!?")

The only Anime I'll ever watch is, if they make it, a Katamari Damacy Anime. I just hate animes for some reason. It's probably because most of them have those bright angel things and stuff like that.

Ah, yes! The death note movies.. I watched both at a friends house and loved them.. I got the Japanese version of L: Change the World(Which thankfully came with an option for english subtitles) at some weird Japanese store in Memphis. I though it was boring, but there were some good parts in it.

He could be talking about Ryuk from Death Note. In which case, I still can't make the connection. Then again, maybe that's for the best.

Shinigami are Soul Reapers. Ryuk Is a Shinigami (Soul Reaper in English). Ichigo is a Soul Reaper (Shinigami in Japanese). They are both the same thing. Thats just...Freaky.

O_o ...Actually, now that you mention it...

(I know they're in different Anime, but still, it's kinda freaky.)

*Hits the "HERESY!" button*

I think that the japanese have different portrails of Shinigami.

Some think they are like people, just on a different world (Bleach)
Others think of them as scary, death gods, kinda like Grim Reapers (Death Note)

I'm not a huge watcher of anime. I used to watch Pokemon, but after 300 episodes and five years, I found it boring and I stopped.

In general, I dislike most anime because, in one way or another, they tend to make me want to view something a little too mature.
