Exclamation SUPREME: Help! Win7 Graphical Glitches!

I'm running the Win7 beta and TRYING to run DLSWC, but the game looks all glitchy, like, empty white pixels where colour should be, irregular tiles, and a general feeling of only 256 colours. How do I get the game to run in 16-bit colour mode, or at least get it to look "complete", rather than the clippy appearance I'm seeing now?

DRLSUP runs in 256 colours in fullscreen mode; that cannot be changed. You can try to make it run in a window, however.

I would recommend checking out whatever Compatibility Mode options there are when you right click on the shortcut and choose Properties. But remember, Win7 is a beta.

Any chance of an upgrade for Supreme to support more than 256 colors and/or increase the size of the window? Say Ultra-Supreme with Cheese?

It's hardly that simple. Keep in mind that Jamul has other things to tend to (LLT, the site, BtD, add-on world compilations, etc., etc., etc.). Also note that Jamul once lamented about the age of the 2.5D Lunacy engine (see http://hamumu.com/journal.php?entry=1225639599 for further details and his reasons).

Totally right: check "Disable Visual Styles" and "Disable Desktop Designs" (don't know the English names, but they are the 3th and 4th checkbox in the second group). That made DLSWC run well on Vista.
Looks like Vista has problems with non true or high color games because of DWM. 7 has the same DWM (desktop window manager).
If it doesn't fix your problems, disable Windows Aero manually and choose Windows Basic design.

There IS a way to get a virtual machine of xp running in Windows 7. Problem is, not all machines can run it. I believe/know if you go on the microsoft site and search for... something. Can't remember what it is. Anyways, it'll tell you if you can run it or not. You know, before you go through the long process of installing it and THEN it telling you "Oh hey, your computer can't run this"

EDIT: Wait, you can just right click, properties, compatibility tab, and check the 'run in 256 colors' box.

Unhappy Windows 7

I just "upgraded" from XP to Windows 7, and now Dr. Lunatic's colors are messed up. Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this? I've already tried every Compatibility mode with no success. Help!

EDIT: Please disregard this post, I tried to delete it but it looks like it's not an option. I found the solution in a Win7 "beta" thread here. I am not happy with Windowed mode, but it looks like it's still better than nothing and I can play my game again without horrible colors! Thank you.

IIRC, switching off "Areo" mode in Vista and 7 will help with the colours.

I found out what the problem was; I put on all the compatibility settings, run as administrator, compatibility for windows SP2, AND had it run in 16 bit color instead of 32 bit (in advanced settings of screen resolution)

so what's the ultimate solution then, step-by-step? I still haven't figured it out.

[EDIT]
I got it! Here's what I did. For Win7 users, do the following:

1) Right click on desktop shortcut, left click on Properties.
2) Click on Compatibility Tab
3) Under Compatibility Mode check the box and choose Win XP SP3
4) Under Settings check the following three boxes:
A> Run in 256 Colors
B> Run in 640x480 Screen Resolution
C> Disable Visual themes
5) It doesn't hurt to check the box marked Run Program as Administrator.

Okay, I tried Predcon's solution (I just got a new laptop with Windows 7 on it), but I don't have a compatibility tab. I have Troubleshoot Compatibility, but that doesn't give me those options. Help?

I've tried many of the things in this post and none have worked. What is this "Arero" mode?

Only the windowed mode worked for me. I tried every compatibility buttons and settings without success. Right click on the shortcut and type window after target, like here:
