I unfortunately do not have any nostalgic memories for #6 (my first console was a Wii), so I'm gonna have to say the latest one.

I'm personally stuck between 4 and 5. Back when game developers had to focus on gameplay rather than what they do now which is focus on graphics and fancy technical tricks.

It was a tie between 3 and 4 for me, but I eventually voted 4 because of Sonic the Hedgehog. :3 That's not to say 1-3 were inferior though. Everything after 4 is vastly inferior, however.

I disagree, there are some really good games still coming out, just they are surround by junk. however, almost every game under 4 was indeed awesome.

I personally miss the days of pre-Gen 6, where the developers payed less attention to flashy graphics and fancy technical tricks and more attention to just being fun. These days, I've literally seen people ragging on great games because of poor graphics, and then there's games like Oblivion getting awards for graphics despite (IMHO) very subpar gameplay.

...There's no real reason to make fun of Halo and Brawl fans. Neither are the best games of all time, but neither are the worst nor the most overrated either (IMO, that goes to Oblivion)

I preferred Generation 5- Most of the good games that came afterwards are based on ones from 5 or earlier. Seriously, when reading PCR's major-games list for those later generations, almost all of them are sequels of earlier games. As for generations 4 and earlier...Eh, I didn't care for most of them.

1.You've got a fair point on the sequels thing.

2. I'm guessing you haven't played the Super Mario World games or A Link to the Past yet?

I played A Link to the Past but preferred Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask to it. As for Super Mario World... No, I'm a horrible person who hasn't played that. But I'll probably get it on Virtual Console.

Well, yeah, OoT pretty much beats everything else ever made, but A Link to the Past is still an awesome game.

And yes, you are a horrible person for not playing Super Mario World

Had to go with Gen. 5; the simplicity of the graphics forced games to focus more on fun gameplay, and that was the period I was really into computer games, anyways.
