Default Party with friends

Let's say there is a party, with a pie war, water-gun war, slipping slide, and so on, and all your friends from school are going to be there. But YOU don't want to go, but you know you should, and your parents want you to go as well, and it's expected to rain that day. What do you do?

It depends on when it is, if it's in the middle of summer and I haven't seen my friends from school at all, then yeah I'll go.

If you don't want to go, you shouldn't have to. I say don't go.

As much as you might not want to go, it'll be a good experience. You'll be able to look back with your friends, and say, "Hey, remember when we _____ at that party?" At the very least, you'll be able to throw a pie at your least favourite person at the party. Just make sure that you've got a ride or something. If it does turn out to rain, you don't want to be stranded.

People, I think telling him to go when he asked how not to do so would do anything but help him. I suggest you use what could be considered "heavy weaponry".
-Pretend you are sick, perhaps even fake some symptoms. I will not go into that since I doubt it would be considered Hamumu appropriate, but I think you get the point.
-Lock yourself into your room to prevent your parents from forcing you to go.
-Tell your parents that you are NOT going to go, and that you accept no discussion. Leave the room before they get a chance to answer.

I never want to go to any social gathering normally, but I do anyways because I know they end up being fun.

Encouraging him to lie or be disrespectful probably isn't a very good idea...

Adrian, if you do not want to go to the party, then just don't go. Explain to your parents and maybe the host of the party why, and then that will be that.
I mean, there's not much point going to a party if you don't want to, as you won't enjoy yourself. Also, there's not much point going just because everybody else is. You go if you want to go. It's as simple as that.

Indeed.

As for the party, some times it can be healthy just to do things you don't really want to, like "boring" stuff that's still important. For instance, I'm planning on trying yoga this evening, even though I never have before. If you don't socialize all that much, this might be a good opportunity to at least "try" it.

Too bad I can't do that because the lock is on the OUTSIDE of the door

Turn the lock around Get a screwdriver, remove the screws on the outside, take the lock (entire doorknob) out on both sides, switch the halves, replace the screws.

Can you say, Advice Dog?

Anyway, I enjoyed myself last night. It was tough, but good for me.

It sounds like it's going to be a riot to me, so I don't know why you wouldn't go. Not feeling well? Apparently you have your reasons. But I would sure be going to a party like that unless unwell.

Well, if you lock yourself in, your parents can come in without the use of a key.
