Default I'm learning how to use Ubuntu 11.04

Any tips or things I should immediately know? Also, online resources would be great! Thanks.

Yeah. Never enter that on any *NIX system.

Even worse would be with sudo in front of it though

Everything is dangerous if you know what you're doing. However, UNIX (and C, if you go into that) in particular assumes you know what you're doing and lets you get on with it.

Which means I very seriously need to find some good documentation so I don't accidentally wipe my entire hard drive when messing around in the terminal!

The Ubuntu forum is a great resource, especially for trouble shooting.
Also the book Linux for Dummies might be helpful (I have the All-in-one Desk Reference by Naba Barkakati)
Hope you enjoy Linux!

Google Is Your Friend. Unless you've toasted your network card accidentally, in which case, having another computer is your friend.
