Default Political Compasses Where Do You Stand?

After reading the thread on the US 2012 elections, I thought it would be fun to try and get people to take either this long test or this much shorter one that tells you where you stand on the political spectrum. Keep in mind these things aren't 100% accurate and it tries to get general principals and ideas of political theories rather than any idea based off the issues in your country.

I should also add that if you do not have a stance on issue/question you're asked about, it may change your result a bit since maybe if you read up on it you would change opinions, but hopefully these questions will balance each other out and won't affect your result too much.

Lastly, paste your results in this thread! If you used the first link, you can find your results around halfway down the page after the quiz. For example, I got:

Economic Left/Right: -7.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.82

For the second one I got:

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 90%
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 20%

As far as what this graph means, the brief explanation is the following:
Left: You believe the government should play a role in redistributing income and spreading the wealth to help those not as fortunate.
Right: You believe that if you made money you earned it and can keep every cent of it. The government should play a minimal role in the people's lives.
Libertarian: You believe that everybody should have civil and economic liberty, which includes free speech, free markets, etc.
Authoritarian: You believe that the people should sacrifice some civil liberties for gains in other fields. This also includes having planned economies where the government has control over what the state produces and how it goes about doing it.
Examples:
-Communism is at the complete left
-Socialism is at the moderate left
-Democrats are around the center, but tend towards the right a bit
-Republicans are at the right
-Fascism is at the complete right

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

I didn't feel like reading everything, so I just checked "Strongly Disagree" on everything. Let's see what I came up with!

Here it is:

So apperently I like freedom. Even though whenever the option came up, I said 'more corporate regulations!'.

EDIT:

100% Personal, 20% Economic. Apparently, believing that corporations should be accountalbe for their actions is anti-freedom.

Fascism is at the top, not the complete right according to the website.

heres what i got.

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 60%
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 80%

There needed to be a neutral option for many of the bigger quiz's questions.

I'm not surprised by the libertarian/authoritarian score, but a bit surprised by the left/right scale, as I tend to be more for economic freedom. I would think I would be on the other side of the scale.

So many leading questions. I don't think I can call any portion of that a fair assessment.

The last 2 pages were easy, I have held my opinions on them for as long as I know.

EDIT: That's pretty close to Ghandi and the Dali Llama. Cool!

For the examples I smushed everything into one axis to simplify it. You will notice that on one dimensional spectrums communism is usually at the extreme left and fascism at the extreme right. This can potentially lead to a lot of confusion, which is what the second dimension tries to fix, but is used as a simplified way to look at the spectrum.

Freedom is represented by the Y axis while defining freedom using the X axis can be a tad odd. The reason for this is that you could argue that a right-wing no government action would give you freedom to do as you wish in the economy, while a left-wing government could give you freedom by giving you the opportunity to reach that freedom in the first place. Essentially it's sacrificing freedom from the richest and handing it to the poor so that everybody gets a fair chance (this is probably what Hyperme ran into). Also keep in mind the result you get is an approximation based off all the answers you gave, which means that right-wing ideology could have been balanced off by other questions.

Here's mine.
Economic Left/Right: -4.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.87

On the other hand, the second test identifies me as a centrist, with a PERSONAL issues Score of 60% and an ECONOMIC issues Score of 50%.

The chart seems about right (I consider myself a moderate), but really there are more variables to consider for many of the options. (Dumbing it down for someone like me is probably the correct thing to do.)

My opinions (not looking for an argument, though); I'm far from an expert anyway:

"No one chooses his or her country of birth, so it's foolish to be proud of it." Go ahead and be proud, but don't go overboard and become elitist. :P

"Military action that defies international law is sometimes justified." - depends what's going on.

"There is now a worrying fusion of information and entertainment." - it can be hard to take things seriously when they're so intertwined.

"Because corporations cannot be trusted to voluntarily protect the environment, they require regulation." - to a DEGREE.

"It's a sad reflection on our society that something as basic as drinking water is now a bottled, branded consumer product." - supply and demand. Keep the drinking fountains, but if people want to buy bottled water, why not?

"The rich are too highly taxed." - a flat tax seems nice.

"People with serious inheritable disabilities should not be allowed to reproduce." - controlling the population? This just seems wrong.

"Our civil liberties are being excessively curbed in the name of counter-terrorism." - I don't think so; I'm more surprised at how strongly the police have gone after the Occupy people.

"Mothers may have careers, but their first duty is to be homemakers." - no, but let them be homemakers if they feel it's most beneficial to their children.

Etc. etc.

Seems as though a lot of the Hamumians are alike, but with how the questions are phrased toward picking one answer, this is not a surprise

Pretty much what i expected really; high taxes for rich, low taxes for poor, anti free trade basically sums up my economic opinion and free rights for all sums up my political opinion.
