(1) If you tried to load an invalid sprite set, the game would crash on attempting to recover from it. This has been fixed.
(2) Not sure what you mean or what the cause of the crash could be. Could you provide some more details?

(2)Odd thing: When selecting a coordinate in a Trigger or Effect when the slots aren't scrolled to the top, the coordinate won't update until you scroll or re-enter the special. Also sometimes shows the slot below the fifth on-screen, overlapping the scroll buttons.

(3)With Summon Bullet, it would be nice to be able to set the projectile to shoot towards a coordinate or monster, (4)along with the ability to summon from a monster.

(2) Fixed this too, I overlooked the coordinate-selection routines when making sure everything handled the new pagination.
(3) A good suggestion, likely to be added in the form of a special arctan math thing.
(4) Right-clicking the coordinates box will now set it to "Tagged," firing bullets from the position of the tagged monster.

A good suggestion with many potential applications, I'll look into it.

Orbiters and Orbit Bombers are now countable via the "Has item" trigger.

I'll continue accumulating features and fixes for a little while before 8.0c, keep them coming!

I thought this had been there for a while.

Nope, it just always assumed 0. I now have it counting how many orbiters/orbit bombers are present in the level.

Also, a couple other bugs that haven't been reported in this thread but have been fixed next version:
  • Removed the console window that inadvertently got added
  • Fixed random values returning one-too-high, causing crashes when things like Visual Shock are spammed
  • Fixed ability to select bogus effects by moving the cursor above "Unused" (does not cause crashes)

Things I notice:
  • Lightning doesn't work (save ball)
  • Directions for a lot of bullets don't work.
  • You can't get the random spread effect that some bullets have...
  • Scanners summon bullets from you as opposed to their source (not a bug, but interesting.)

The directions should always work. It's just that some have 8 directions (normal hammer), while others can have a full circle (0-255, evil hammer). SpaceManiac told me this.

You can. Just use the same math as with variables for directions (1R255, for example).

Some bullets use 0-255 rather than 0-7.

Ahh, OK

EDIT: A suggestion, but perhaps a way to sense specific bullets as well...

At some point, we're probably going to have to move away from very complex IF-THENs.

I tried to change the color of the Evil Clone and it works, but his shirt always changes to green no matter what you do. There also appears to be some trouble with the dark lines on his hammer - if you look closely, they become transparent.

Another problem: My resolution is 1024 by 768 on a widescreen monitor, but all the FLC videos are vertically stretched and look like a different resolution. Not sure what could be causing this :/

Evil Clone is a recolored Bouapha. You can only have one color changed on a monster at a time.

SM, this is what happens when I open it now. It constantly plays a sound as if I'm typing a letter. I'm not even touching the keyboard.

That reminds me, should make the new profile prompt only open on startup if there aren't any profiles, rather than if the prompt hasn't been used before.

It checks to see if profile.cfg, the file that's used to remember what profile you were on last, hasn't been created yet. Just remember to copy profile.cfg as well as the profiles themselves when you transfer profiles to a new install.

I has suggestion.

Three words: more tile slots (I mean the part when you're placing them, not editing them).

Maybe you should increase the maximum to 8.

The "Who Doesn't Want to be a Moron" minigame is bugged. For the question "Which fan did NOT make a level for "Halloween Horror II"?", the answer "Kool Kat Bad" wasn't listed among the four available. That may be because "Sol705" was the correct answer. Which doesn't make since because it had previously told me it was an incorrect answer.

Some questions may have multiple correct answers (though only one will be shown at a time). In this case, both of those are possible correct answers.

EDIT: I see you were mislead by the Wiki article, I have updated the information on the question to be correct.

Jamul really ought to compile all this stuff into some kind of paperback. A combination Player's Guide and designers' notes book.

In addition to the builder stuff that I have been testing, I have been replaying some of the existing worlds to insure that the upgrades haven't broken anything. I haven't run into anything overtly crazy, but I have found something annoying.

The escape menu sometimes takes a very long time to present after the escape button has been pressed. It seems to take longer in very complex world, which is to say worlds with loads of special, which is to say worlds made by somebody calling herself Hammered. I found it was especially easy to reproduce in almost every level of Spamumu and Obscurity Clearance, taking up to many seconds in some levels.

Now I do generally play with other windows open, but not with windows that are actually doing any processing, so I don't think that is the problem, unless it is explicitly memory that is the issue, which I suppose is possible, but it didn't used to be a problem in my worlds on computers which were far older than this one, and, obviously, I played the levels that I developed many times in the testing process, and I never noticed anything like this back when I built them.
