Yerfdog The Amazing Testing Cooperative

The tagline for Dropbox is "Simplify Your Life", and that is exactly what I intend to use it for. For quite a while, I have failed to test addons, and that's not cool to you guys. But now, once I finally got the technology set up to make it possible to do again (for a very long time, I actually couldn't do it, because I had lost a bunch of key files between computer moves), I've discovered that it's one more of the many things getting in the way of me actually making games! I'm trying to do all I can to focus entirely on making games to combat extreme burnout syndrome, so this is one key step.

So that's where I turn to you, the potential future members of The Amazing Testing Cooperative! I've created a Dropbox folder ( http://www.dropbox.com - free to join and really really useful!) where I put the Supreme (and LL2) addons that are sent to me, and I leave it entirely in your hands. Anybody who wants to join the Testing Cooperative just send me an email with your Dropbox email address, and I'll share the folder with you.

Now you guys can organize the operation however you want, but the gist is, the addons will be in there, and somebody from the co-op just has to let me know when one is considered A-OK, and I will package it up, mark it official, and post it. The procedures you have for deciding that and notifying me are in your hands, I'll trust you on it.

You'll also be able to upload things to the folder yourself, so you can use that to share notes, or upload fixed versions, or however you want to work it. Power to the people.

Hopefully there's enough interest in doing this that worlds can keep getting added officially, and we don't have to resort to just simple forum sharing!

P.S. if you want to do this and you don't already have a Dropbox account, don't just make one! Email me, and I can send you an email to sign up with. I get 500MB more space in my account for each person who does this, and thus, more room for addons! I'd appreciate the boost!

The 'send me an email' in the journal post has a mailto redirect embedded. It's included in my post here too.
Otherwise, just: jamul@hamumu.com

Would it be possible to set up a forum or something for the discussing of worlds? It seems like that might be a better way to organize it than the odd text documents that are currently there.

There's a forum right here... start a thread and start jabbering! Seems like the project has been about 99% dead so far.

Yeah, I submitted a world several months ago, but apparently nobody has looked at it. I was thinking of putting it up on mediafire or something, but I don't think many people are interested in Dr. Lunatic anymore.

Are you the only one that tests worlds? I would like to get input from more than one person.

Thumbs up

Alright, I tested your world, Jordo. Everything was working great and it was pretty fun as well. The only thing I would change is I would disable any other special weapons in the level Shrubbish, as I got a Stopwatch and a Freeze-Ray instead of Machetes and I got stuck between two zombies.

Thumbs up Sorry for double post

Pewskipski's Summer Silliness world is now tested. The only thing I noted is the entrance to the secret level in "Raiders of the Lost Fridge," which is very difficult to find if it's not the only thing you're looking for. Also, "The Dark Night Rises" was very difficult until I realized you can turn off the streetlights. Otherwise the world was fun and complete.

Thumbs down Triple post combo

Began on Dj Fondoo's Icy Apex world. As of now, I can only get through 41% of it. Here are some of the issues in the first half:
-Many monsters with edited life have additional changed life but not additional max life, so the life bars don't work correctly
-Ice bombs can only be picked up half of the time
-Operation Brain Freeze is missing 4/4 candles
-Snow Dog Lake is missing 1/10 candles (that was a lot of fun to figure out), and two of the candles are placed directly behind pine trees, making them very difficult to find without a candle radar (equally entertaining)
-After finishing as many levels as I could, nothing new opened up. I can't find a secret level.
I haven't edited the world so I can't reach and haven't played the rest of the levels.

As for Merlix's Tropical Trouble world, I haven't had the will power to get through many levels as their are many tedious water and tree mazes so far. Only at 14%.

Thumbs down Quadrapost

Tested Spacemaniac's Halloween Horror 13. A few issues:
-In the level Madmen in Black 3 when you get all the brains or candles the player loses stealth and usually will get killed by turrets. Not sure if this is intentional.
-The special to get the candle in Mann vs. Monster isn't complete. Needs the effect filled in as "change item to none" or it is unreachable.
-Two of the candles in Spooked Swamp are hidden directly behind trees, one is especially annoying.
-The "Pacifist Bonus" in Rise of the House of Mushroom doesn't work and is impossible without cheats, unless I'm really missing something. Because of that I can't reach the keychain level yet. Got it, still could use a hint.
Otherwise everything's working well. Including the keychain level.

Halloween Horror 13 - SM
Major Issues (Fix these!)
-Mann vs Monsters candle prize is broken.
-Duckula is hard.

Criticism (General quality feedback)
-Duckula is a sharp contrast in difficulty compared to the other levels. The way the boss is designed feels more like a damage race than an actual fun challenge
-Rise of the House of Mushroom's keychain could use a hint.
-Men in Black 3: Drop the sections with waiting for A Little Crazy to move, completely luck-based and unchallenging.
-Mann vs. Monsters: After a bit the level becomes more of a monotonous grind, with firepower high enough to laugh at the enemies. The wave goals for candle and Loony Key are too high I think, as well.
-Scary Prairie's difficulty is also high compared to others. As well, the low firepower makes dispatching of enemies a monotonous process.
-Boos Brothers feels luck based, lots of undodgable nonsense especially if the snowballs get in a loop.

Oh, there were two? I missed one of them when I played through it last year...

You need to join dropbox and be granted access to the Supreme_Addons folder. (See the first post in this thread...)

After that, just open your Dropbox and the worlds are right there in the Supreme_Addons folder. Read the "Read me.txt" of course.
