Default Build The Galaxy!

I thought it'd be a fun side-project to make a .exe version of my forum game, "Build the Galaxy". It's completely made in Game Maker 8.0 Lite, (probably 8.0 pro, soon) in GML (Game Maker Language). I'll probably let any GML-ers help if they'd like. Anyway, I'm basing this off of a basic top-down adventure game. This thread is, like, 90% for game suggestions.

+ North, East, South, West Buttons (Hit them to move the player around)

yep. one of the first things I'll add once I get around to getting back to editing this game.

Also for customizable icons I meant like in the game to denote where people are

Hmm, I can't believe I missed this one. Well it's rather buggy and confusing. Everytime I go up, down, east, west, the control bar moves out of reach. I think this is a serious bug.

The game file for this has already been deleted. I could re-make it easily, but I have no idea on what I'm gonna do with the inventory.

(this might actually get posted the day after, but I packed it up and made the .exe file may 13th)

Don't forget to suggest stuff! Tiles, and gameplay mainly. Hopefully I can add some trees soon, so that we have something to put in the inventory. I imagine it (the inventory) will be very glitchy when i first make it, though.

Also, thanks to Wedxzas (my brother) for help with coding.

EDIT: I could use some help with the tiles' art. Anyone who would like to make some 64x64 tiles for the grass, sand, water and "mine", it would be very helpful. Also the player too, I guess.

Now then.. trees.. and chopping them down..

Should it be that there's always the chopping-down-tree action, and when you click it, you have to click on a tree, then it chops it down?
Or should it be the other way around? You click a tree, then the action pops up in the action list.

If anybody cares :P

My choice is probably the first one, as I think it would be easier to implement :P

Just abstract tree chopping away into a generic break-block action. Then you can change the icon and text based on the player's current tool. The context based icons might also work, but GML is kind of weird at being object oriented.

I have came about to try and make three tiles, and I am wondering how you think of my style, and whether or not you would like to consider me a likely candidate for your graphics department.
