Default Mafia 24: Manically Mad Mafia

Rules and Stuff:

During day, you may talk to find the people chosen to be Mafia. You may vote for a person you think is bad, like this;

VOTE: EXAMPLEMAN

Take away a vote like this;

UNVOTE: EXAMPLEMAN

The first person to have a majority of votes each day will be lynched.

Talking at night is forbidden. Vote changes after a majority is reached will be ignored.

Additionally, the first time a player dies, they will be resurrected with a new role on the Day after their role was reviled. Players killed twice are dead for good, as You Only Live Twice. This has the potential to become a terrible train wreak, so apologies in advance if it does.

All players get a last gasp after their second death.

You may not reveal role information of former allies, unless you 're-acquire' that knowledge with an inspection. Doing so will result in horrible, gasp-less mod-kills.

Deadline information

If the deadline is reached and majority has come about, the person with the most votes is lynched. No Lynch is available as a voting option.

The game will begin when all role PMs are sent out.

Players:

Julian
Megadog
seamonkey
texasjoshua
Pewskeepski
Gigacat
Boneheads1999
sonicchaos1993

All role PMs should have be sent out. If you didn't receive a role, PM me. Players should also PM to confirm role acquisition. Use of role powers will be counted as confirmation.

It is Night One. Power Roles have 48 hours to PM me their choices. Note that Day One's start may be delayed by up to eight hours, and my availability on Mondays will be reduced, due wacky University timetabling.

You awaken to a terrible scene! Gigacat has been slain! He was a Townie. He will live again on Day 2.

Living Players:

Julian
Megadog [!]
seamonkey
texasjoshua
Pewskeepski [!]
Boneheads1999
sonicchaos1993

Dead Players:

Gigacat - Killed Night 1 - Townie

Players marked with a [!] have not replied to their Role PMs with confirmation. This means their PM box is full, or they ignored the PM. Please note that I can easily find out when you were last online. If they don't confirm within 24 hours, I'll start looking for replacements.

Anyhow, it is Day One. With 7 players alive it is 4 to lynch. If a majority vote is not reached within five days (120 hours), the player with the highest vote count will be lynched. Now go get 'em!

Let's get this show on the road, people. As I am a Townie, I don't really have anything to say.

Not too surprised Gigacat was killed (although I am surprised I wasn't killed, mafia must have assumed I was being protected). In the past couple games he's been very good at causing discussion, and an inactive town usually loses. Looks like the mafia are targeting the players that normally cause discussion so that the town will lose from inactivity and lack of discussion.

The meta game seems to have shifted to killing one of the middle-tier players first. I am done noting you not getting killed at the beginning strange

While mentioning meta-gaming

While this is definitely an effect, Gigacat will be resurrected. If that is the mafia's reasoning, they are misguided. The fact that Gigacat is generally a good player probably has more to do with the kill. Not much more to add this early in the game, although on reflection I find TJ does seem to be correct that players-not-considered-to-be-the-number-one-player are oft killed night 0. Doesn't really help, so far as I can see, but it's there.
(that was a lot of dashes)

The mafia don't have anything to say either if the town don't. Your logic is invalid

I'm wondering how this resurrection thing works in relation to the mafia and town? If a townie is killed, is it possible for him to come back as mafia? If people never change their alignments, then it wouldn't work since we'd all know who's good and bad even though they're alive.

Roles gained on resurrection follow a set list, and are not based on prior identity. This list is a secret, but will be made public at the end of the game.

Speaking of Megadog, he still hasn't confirmed. If you want to replace him, PM me. If you are him and don't want to be replaced, show up!

Well. This is a rather small game, lets all metagame some more.

And how will a no lynch help us? All that happens is the mafia get a free kill. Also, players are resurrected in this game, which makes mislynches much less damaging to the town. We should be trying to find evidence so we can go after the mafia. If everyone is content to let day pass with a NL, there isn't much motivation to go out and find evidence.

Also, I don't remember Julian supporting NL this much in the past, except for one game: Borderlands Mafia. In which he was cult. Vote: Julian

Uh, I normally either go no lynch or randomly lynch somebody for fun. It's about even.

Based off that, I'll VOTE: sonicchaos1993, since he's pulling lies out of thin air to try and get me lynched.

Gonna have to agree with Sonic that no lynching is far from the best course of action. Naturally if we're going to lynch somebody, we'll want some evidence to back it up and that's what discussion is for!

I don't really recall whether or not Julian has ever been pushy in a no lynch, aside from the game Sonic pointed out. I'm going to take a look at more previous games to see. I'm think there have been a few occasions where he's brought it up.

Looking at some more previous games, it looks like I may have been mistaken. I still find supporting a NL in this game silly and pointless, but it probably isn't worth a vote. Unvote.
