Because these posters aren't motivational. Like, at all. This thread is more like some kind of surreal art gallery, with a wing for weird propaganda.

So what are you trying to say, we should create another thread for these posters?

Would you call Wesley's poster in this thread, would you even call the latest one made by Pup514, propaganda? Saying propaganda isn't enough, if you want people to learn where they went wrong in the making, you have to point out some aspects.

To me, the definition of propaganda isn't clear enough for me to know what is wrong about these posters.

Don't say anything ChessManiac, you don't know what you are talking about, do you Hyperme?

I am mortally offended by this, oh yeah, I would love to do propaganda even though I am clearly against it! And what is this "Weird Propaganda", there is either propaganda or nothing!

You have no right to make assumptions about people's intentions, and you have absolutely no right to just tell people to leave if they don't like it, I am feeling really moody right now, if I told you, right now, right then in this thread, don't read it then, how would you feel? You would feel so hurt that you wished I wasn't so mean.

Propaganda is a strong and highly implicated word, and if you can't answer ChessManiac's question about why you call these mo/demo-tivational posters in this thread propaganda, because you feel doing your work is more important than giving more constructive feedback, then you should not have posted this post in the first place.

Thank you, goodbye!

3. something that motivates; inducement; incentive: Clearly, the company's long-term motivation is profit.

I like these posters for sure, but by definition they arnt motivational. Propoganda was perhaps a little extreme but the posters do promote Dr. L SWC so you could argue that point...

Maybe propaganda was a bit strong. However, you can't deny that some of these images were made specifically to complain about certain political views.

The rest of them are generally kind of weird. There's an image, a title and some text, but the link between just doesn't quite exist.

"Propaganda is a form of communication aimed towards influencing the attitude of a population toward some cause or position."

I would agree that under this definition Pup's poster is propaganda, it is trying to influence the population(us) that Greed is generally bad and there is more of it. He isn't necessarilly wrong but it is technically propaganda.

It really isn't that strongly phrased. I really like some of the ones, like the level design poster, but other, like the "Big IT company" one really has no relevance to anything hamumu related and is largely negative. As in not very motivational.

Many of these just don't make sense to me, I just don't understand what the poster is trying to say. But overall Hyperme's post is simply a reaction to the fact that few if any of these posters are motivational which is what people would be expecting/looking for when clicking on this thread.

Edit: Oops, Ninja'd by Hyperme. I basically agree with what he said.

Would it help if the thread was renamed Mo/Demo-tivational Posters?

Actually, that is a very good point, why sweat it over it so much. Back in the old thread, there were quite a few posters which were not Hamumu oriented, or seemed to be motivating you in anyway. And didn't REACTOR say in some posts that his posters may be motivational/demotivational?

Here is a rather dull and depressing one, which falls into the demotivational category.

Why not just share the world via file-sharing services?
And why not just test the world yourself? If it takes that long, then chances are it is much more efficient putting the time in yourself.
Personally I don't think getting a world on the site should be a primary concern when sharing worlds, I think it should just be an added bonus that if you are lucky you might get.
I would suggest following these steps...
1. Test your world.
2. Send it to get published.
3. Share the world via file-sharing services, so that it is able to be played even before it gets onto the site, that way right after your done, people can play your world regardless of the long process of waiting for it to finally get published. Then even if the world never gets published, it still gets out to the community.

Wow, you really opened my eyes too to a new possibility! But what Fire-Sharing services would you recommend, and how would we be able to get our worlds known by the net?
