Question What are you reading?

Generic Thread,

I thought I would create this thread since it would be a nice compliment to "What are you listening to?".

Me: Reading "The Histories" by Herodotus. There were sure insane events happening in the ancient world.

I am now reading Dune, a novel by Frank Herbet.

I finished reading the Histories of Herodotus, and it was really interesting with all these insane and incredible accounts. But it sagged for a considerable time in the second half of the book.

The word generic itself refers to a class or theme of things, instead of anything specific.

I just finished Saving Fish from Drowning, so I'm going to stick with Amy Tan and read The Bonesetter's Daughter.

I finished Dune, by Frank Herbet! It was a good book to read, it had a unique universe and great concepts (Such as the Bene Gesserits). Although the author had taken a lot of words from the Arabs, it was certainly better than the randomness of most universes, such as those in movies such as Jupiter Ascending. I would give it 7/10.

The arabic thing is at least partially because Dune was in part a commentary on oil politics.

I am now reading "The Doll" by Bolesław Prus. So far it's a nice slow going book to read, with a lot of focus on contemporary society during the time of the author. Set in Warsaw, huzzah! Something different from Victorian Times fortunately.
