Many years ago my husband and I owned our own pizza restaurant. The recipe for the dough would be too large for you to make at home, but I now do something much simplier and almost as tasty! Thaw out a roll of frozen bread dough, roll or stretch to the size you want, top and bake. This can be purchased in almost any grocery store and a 1 pound loaf makes a very large, thick-crust pizza. Enjoy!

Personally, I can't eat the store-bought crusts. Too bland and tasteless, if you ask me. I've got a nice pizza recipe going, and it's working out pretty well.

When you have it together, could you send it to me? I've been trying to perfect one for just me for years and I haven't had success. Thanks! :P

That has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

I've got to find the recipe again, so I can post it. Our refrigerator is a mess of magnets, papers, and coupons for pizza places my parents won't go to.

That in no way helps me, either.

Gayle, do you like eating crusts with wheat flour in them?

I haven't had a wheat crust I've particularly liked. But if you perfect your recipe with wheat, I will certainly try it. I believe that, just because you try something once or twice and don't like it, you may find it made another way that is good.

At Pizza Hut they do some pizzas with cheese in the crust. Maybe you could try that?

I have my grandmother's old pizza crust recipe somewhere (the same grandmother who made the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies).
If I find it, I'll post it.

I always put minced garlic in my pizza crust dough, whether I'm doing a biscuit-type dough or a yeast dough in the bread machine.

Ooh! I'll have to try that! Garlic makes everything better.

Can't seem to find the recipe, though. I'll have to get it again from my mom.

Perhaps it would be easier to just go to Pizza 73 (tastes better than pizza hut in my opinion) or any pizza place and just order pizza.
besides who wants to buy all that equiptment to make a little pizza?!?!?

good answer but! someone may be hungry and want to just eat instead of pursuing a career. and if you go broke you'll be a bum. All for a pizza parlor, go figure!

No, you won't get broke; you'd have to have another job or some way to make money...
And you wouldn't 'buy now, pay later at an inflated amount', you'd loose more money, then if you just saved and bought a little at a time...

Look, this is for me. I'm hopefully pursuing a career in culinary arts. I want to make some pizza, so suggest a pizza recipe I could try and stop posting about the problems you think I have with what I'm trying to do.
